Join your friends and neighbors in a Kew Gardens effort to fight hunger! Paint and decorate a bowl that will be donated to the first Kew Gardens Empty Bowls Fundraising Event. Stop by or call The Potters Wheel to reserve by February 4th. Don't wait, there are a limited amount of bowls available! BOWL PAINTING DATES Friday, February 17, 3-7pm. Saturday, February 18, 2-6pm Sunday, February 19, 2-6pm $10 per bowl for supplies (CREATE A BOWL, DONATE A BOWL is a not for profit activity in preparation for the Empty Bowls Event). The Kew Gardens Empty Bowls Event will take place on Sunday, March 18th, 4-6pm at The New Homestead Home. Imagine 200 friends and neighbors sitting around communal tables, sharing a simple meal of soup and bread in ceramic bowls created by local potters and community artists (like you!), served with the help of Girl Scout Troop 4007 and a devoted group of seniors. There will be two hours of music, poetry and lots of lively conversation. Education, information and referrals will be available on accessing NYC services and proceeds of the day will be donated to the Food Bank for New York City. And you will keep your bowl as a reminder that there are always empty bowls in the world.
