Enjoyed 40th class reunion, sorry I missed the 30th 10 yrs ago. I met 2 gentlemen who also went to Van Wyck Jr Hs 217 that also graduated in 1962 with me. Anyone else out there that attended both schools & grad 1962-1965 Looking to reunite with Gail Anthony, Linda Pinzon, Helen Leo, Carol Ashford, Ida West. Can't believe that more people from both schools haven't been in touch with these cites. Classmates, Reunion, This School Cite & Graduates. I haven't been back since 1966. Boy did I have a ball. I took pics of all the homes I lived in + the 2 churches I attended - Van Wyck Congergsational - now a temple & Gospal Baptist where the minster let me take pic & I reminnised with him about when I was there. I took pics of PS 121 (6th G) Van Wyck 217 where they gave me the full tour of the school & I met all faculty & had a pic W the guard. I loved the tour of RHHS & Jan's lunch. Just like old times even played Bingo at the RKO Theatre (lost-worth it). Love my subway (Jamaica & Liberty EL'S) too. I am planning to move back to Richmond Hill (as soon as I can get things straightned out. Reall soon I hope) my home where I belong. Been away to long. I have 9 kids (6 B- 38, 30, 25, 23, 18 & 14, 3 G- 28, 24 & 20) 9 GC- 1G- 8B W 2 ON THE WAY. I am divorced and enjoying my kids & NY again. I will be at the RH Historical Society's Dinner & Dance (I joined while there - you should too -they need YOU) Abbracciamento's Restaurant - 62-96 Woodhaven Blvd, Rego Park on 11/5/05 7:PM. Please join $20.00 single, $30.00 family. RHHistorical Society 86-20 115th st RH NY 11418 (718-847-6070). They really need your (all our) support. Let's build up and save (if not for old times sake - remember how it was for us) save our old home. Really - you can afford a carton of smokes (I don't smoke) why not spend that much to join as A FAMILY for $30.00. You won't regret it and God will bless you for it. Does anyone remember Miss Koch? I wonder what happened to her. Both schools really haven't changed that much by looks. Disapline & dress code are gone as we knew it. Times have sure changed. I wouldn'd have changed 1 day. They were the 9 best yrs of my life. I hope to hear from some of my friends . Love ya Ellen

I graduated RHHS in 1947. I was drafted into the Marine Corps in March of 1952. Never will forget having to report Downtown at "WHITE HALL STREET" one cold morning. Never will forget the first breakfast in Boot Camp. I wouldn't dare look at it -- S.O.S. I would like to know how many male classmates were killed and if possible their names. The only one I heard about was an old friend "Johnny McQuade". He introduced me to a neat bunch of Gals & Guys in the summer months at Rockaway Beach (Irish-town). Those were the days (Good Ole). I often wonder where the 1947 Graduates settled? Would like to hear from you New Yorkers. Gene Golonka, Arizona Transplant

Purchased a home in Richmond Hill 5 years ago. Reading your messages put tears in my eyes. I would have loved to have grown in this neighborhood. Sounds like it was lots of fun and most of all caring. It's probably changed a great deal. Nevertheless I hope to be able to provide a good service to this community. I am sure that many of you are in search of PROTECTION, SECURITY AND PEACE OF MIND for you and your family. A Pre-paid Legal Services plan can do just that. Visit my website at www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/jmartinez17 or call me at (718) 451 - 6845. Look forward to hearing from you.

I found this website by accident and am amazed at how many people have the same memories of Richmond Hill as I have. I often think of my old house and the neighborhood with great nostalgia. My house was on the corner of of 95th and 118th, 2 houses away from St. Bennies and down the block from Gus's Deli. My family lived there from 1950 to 1969. My best friend from when I was very little was Marie Bianchi, who lived up the block, and we had a lot of kids on our block that we played with. When I was a little older, I'd ride my bike to 114th street where my other bestest of best friend, Susan along with Linda, TC and Regina lived. WOW, I just have the best memories ever of the old neighborhood. Are any of my friends out there? I would love to talk to you!

I grew up in RH from 53 to 75, loved it so much, fond memories of my father walking me to the library where I would be immersed in the world of books, I still love libraries today! I remember the two big chairs by the door where my father would sit and wait until I came out of the Children's Library.
