Marion, mistakenly I was sent a birth certificate for an Elizabeth Hofediener, daughter of Otto and Lena (Hoffman). She was born Aug.10, 1909 in NY, and they were living at 523 E. 15 st.They had 6 previous children.

Great web page! I have often looked for people I may have known who are sharing their memories as children growing up in Richmond Hill, NY. I often wonder where they are and what has happened to them. I was born in Jan 1947, grew up at 94-27 109th Street, attended PS 62, then PS 108, and then went to George Westinghouse High School in Brooklyn. I have lots of fun memories hanging out with friends at Mayer's Ice Cream Parlor in Woodhaven. Also have great memories of playing stick ball in Carvel's parking lot on Atlantic Avenue, next door to Mabee's where I worked as a bus boy for a short time. I also remember going to the Battle of the Bands Dances at Richmond Hill High School. Many of the friends I grew up with when living in Richmond Hill are still my close friends today: Jim Armet, Norman Schomaker, Peggy Theuret, Joanne Sacrestano, and Lou Sarasy. Other friends I remember but do not hear from include John Ade, Frankie Wolfe, Carol Jolly, Patty Hoffman, and Cathy Wedlock. I am also friends with others who have also grown up in Richmond Hill but who I did not know and/or hang out with as a child, e.g. Lou Scappa and Leo and Maria Girace. Sadly, I learned that Billy Schmalenberger passed away several years ago. It was a great time to have grown up in Richmond Hill in the 1950's thru mid 1960's. We got married in 1968, and have been living on Long Island since 1977. Though we have made many friends who have never been to Richmond Hill, memories of events growing up there are often the topic when we are together with the "old group". Looking forward to hearing from anyone who remembers me or my family (sisters Wilma or Carol, brothers John, Freddy, and Jimmy) or who remember any of my friends from those days. Bob Rugen

I can't tell you just how happy I am to find this site. Many memories so wonderful that I stayed up until 5A.M. and at 66 years young thats not easy. I was born there in 1938 baptized in Church of the Resurrection,P.S.54 for grades K-6th, P.S.108 for 8-9th,and good old Richmond Hill High. My mom lived ther until 1994. I moved to the island in 1962 but visted often. Thanks for the memories.
