Had some great times/memories. I used to live on the corner of 121st and Jamaica
ave. They used to call it the stoop house, it had a bar and grill on the first
floor and was like a turn of the century hotel. I
understand it burned down years ago. I don't have any good pictures would love
it if somebody had one. If any of my old friends from the long island press
are still around, how ya doing?

Comments: My parents, John Acken (Jack) Smith and Dorothea Breitenbach
, both graduated RHHS. They were born 1913 -- June and November -- met in RHHS
and married a few days after graduation. My Mom -- and maybe Dad, too,
graduated in JUNE of 1930 in what was called annex 90. There was also
a class that graduated in Jan. 1930 but they aren't in that class. Do you have
access to the 1930 annex 90 yearbook? I also need their home addresses if possible
for an ancestral search. Can anyone help me? Thank you for any information you
may pass on to me. I have submitted in the past with an outdated email address.
Thank You, Dorothea Smith

Comments: Grad of RHHS 1954 (nearly 50 years ago!!). Yes, us old timers
do have and use computers! Tried listing on Alumni page of RHHS,
but getting error message: link not found on server. Will try again later.
This site really brings back memories. No one has mentioned Jahn's that I've
seen. Remember the "Kitchen Sink" there, and the tables with initials carved
in? If you didn't have a knife to carve with, your server would bring
you one.
webmaster: Hi Paul, I
personally remember Jahn's because I was a busboy/dishwasher there during mid
60's. That Nickelodeon would drive me nuts after awhile but it was all in good
spirits! Glad that you found our website and yes we were in the middle of changing
our servers.

Comments: Two upcoming events provide a good reason to come back and
visit the Richmond Hill (for our brothers and sisters in the diaspora) or for
current residents to discover more about their community. On Sunday, April
8th at 3 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church at 86-20 114th Street, The Sacred
Music Chorale of Richmond Hill (RH's only resident choral ensemble) performs
Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. See the SMC webpage here on richmondhillny.com.
Also, Sunday May 20th from noon to 4pm, the annual House and Garden Tour hosted
as a fundraiser by the Friends of the Richmond Hill Library takes place.
See the Messageboard posting
for more details. Take the opportunity to support the continuing rennaisance
of Richmond Hill!
