Comments: Grew up in RH but now living in FL. Have found some old friends
via classmates. Would love to find former 3rd grade teacher (and RHHS alumna)
Jeannette Carfora Albanese. She taught at PS 55 (this was in the 50s). I am
not having much luck so any help would be appreciated. As a teacher now, I would
like to thank her for being so inspiring when I was young. Denise

Comments: It's great to stroll down memory lane and know that there are
still people who think & care about the old neighborhood and schools. I
lived in RH & S. Ozone Park from 75 'til 1/90 & have gone back to visit
2x & still miss it. I've been in S. Fla since 1/90. I went to PS 55, JHS
226 & graduate of RHHS in 1985. All my brothers/sisters went there too.
Class of' 79 (Luis & Blanca Rivera), Class of 81 (Edgard Rivera), Class
of 83 (Sylvia Rivera). Anyone out there who remembers us feel free to email
me. Thanks for the site.

Comments: Grad of RHHS 1954 (nearly 50 years ago!!). Yes, us old timers
do have and use computers! Tried listing on Alumni page of RHHS,
but getting error message: link not found on server. Will try again later.
This site really brings back memories. No one has mentioned Jahn's that I've
seen. Remember the "Kitchen Sink" there, and the tables with initials carved
in? If you didn't have a knife to carve with, your server would bring
you one.
webmaster: Hi Paul, I
personally remember Jahn's because I was a busboy/dishwasher there during mid
60's. That Nickelodeon would drive me nuts after awhile but it was all in good
spirits! Glad that you found our website and yes we were in the middle of changing
our servers.

Comments: Two upcoming events provide a good reason to come back and
visit the Richmond Hill (for our brothers and sisters in the diaspora) or for
current residents to discover more about their community. On Sunday, April
8th at 3 pm at St. John's Lutheran Church at 86-20 114th Street, The Sacred
Music Chorale of Richmond Hill (RH's only resident choral ensemble) performs
Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle. See the SMC webpage here on richmondhillny.com.
Also, Sunday May 20th from noon to 4pm, the annual House and Garden Tour hosted
as a fundraiser by the Friends of the Richmond Hill Library takes place.
See the Messageboard posting
for more details. Take the opportunity to support the continuing rennaisance
of Richmond Hill!

webmaster: I attended
Cenacle during the years when we greeted Pope Paul VI as he drove by in a motorcade
on the Van Wyck. I remember the nuns saying that Our Lady of the Cenacle would
be the first Roman Catholic Church that the Pope would pass by after arriving
in JFK Airport en route to Manhattan. I also remember seeing JFK motorcade en
route to Idlewild (JFK) Airport.
