Comments: Love the site -- but looking for some help. The links
for the Richmond Hill Historic Society all seem to result in a "page not found"
error (except the home page). I'm looking for some history on Richmond
Hill. Is the book by William Kross available anywhere??
webmaster- Not sure why you get
"page not found". All the links are working as far as I can tell. Visit this
page to learn about the author- http://www.richmondhillhistory.org/wkrooss.html
Try the Richmond Hill Library
at Lefferts Blvd. and Hillside Ave. Its possible they have a copy for lending.
Also I will forward your request to Historical Society for any leads on purchasing.

then seems to not be around, especially out in LI. I hope my website can
bring back that same sense of neighborhood that my memories of Richmond Hill
do.

Comments: Did a search for my name and turned up the 200th RHHS reunion
page. I attended both the 90th and 100th. My grandfather built a house in RH
around
1890 and was family owned until 1986. On the history page the victorian homes.
La
Guardia never lived in that house. My wife was born there and it was owned by
her family from 1916 until 1969. A doctor owned it prior to 1916. I pass through
RH every year and enjoy it. Love the places and try to stop in Jahn's now and
then. Live now in the Pocono Mountains. By the way my sister used to hang out
with Bill Krooss and there gang. Hank
webmaster- I will forward your
email to members of the Historical Society for further info on the "La Guardia
House". Also I added your comment about Krooss on the Historical Society's Update
page. Sadly, Mr. Krooss recently passed away on Sept. 3, 2000.

Comments: In 1950 I visited with the Dr. George and Ruth Fernlund, I
believe it was on 114th street just a few doors off Jamaca ave. I was with thier
nephew Robert C. Rogers, we were in the US Air Force at the time. If you know
of anyone that remains of the Fernlund family I would like to hear from them.
Any news would be appreciated.
webmaster- Believe it or not,
I live in the house that was once owned by Dr. Fernlund, the house is located
on 115th Street. This house is also known as the "Lefferts Farm Cottage" which
was originally owned by the Lefferts Family who owned the surrounding area before
Richmond Hill was developed in 1869. I will ask my mom if she might know of
what became of The Fernlund Family. We moved into the house around 1962.

Comments: Its me again! Listen WEBMASTER, it would be so great
if you can get a live web cam for this site. I would love to have my friends
who still live in RH wave to me occasionally since we are all so far away.
Perhaps a cam located at the Pond, flagpole, the library, I dunno, some place
central. Also I went to PS 90 (graduated 79) and would love to see more
about the school on this site. Just some suggestions from someone who
really misses RH. Thanks again for your wonderful site. Blessings to you...from
Dallas.

well. Back in the late 60's, I was hanging out at a corner candy store on NE
corner of 111th and 91st and all along 91st Ave. to the steps of Richmond Hill
HS on 113th. In the summer evenings the pool was open and... well that's another

Comments: Reading the memories of people from R. H. was delightful and
just what Im looking for. My students and I have been researching the rich history
of R.H. in conjunction with the celebration of our school's silver jubilee.
We would love to print out anecdotals from those of you who resided in this
community and can give us a little journal of its passed history. We are also
looking for former students of Virgil I. Grissom JHS, located on Rockaway Blvd.
so that they may join in our celebration and give us a history of their time
at the school. Spread the word and contact me. The school's # is 843 -
2260. You can also e-mail info to me. We are transforming the main lobby
into a visual, historical archive of the school and the communities it serves.
Any assistance would help us out greatly. Ms. Davis

Comments: Hi!!! I was born in RH in 1967 and lived on 106 street until
1987. When I got married I moved to WHVN while my parents stayed. I stayed in
WHVN until 1991 and then moved to Orange co. My parents followed me up in 1995.
I went to HCJ and RHHS. I would love to hear from anyone who attended HCJ when
I did. It was such a big part of my life. Joyce Guerriere who went to HCJ with
me also lives in Orange co. We were just saying how great it would be to have
a reunion from our years. We don't see or hear from anyone because we are out
of the county so we can't "bump into" anyone in the area. I don't get back to
RH too often although I do know that it has changed quite a bit and that is
very dissappointing. It is ashame that I couldn't raise my children there. Hope
to hear from someone. It would be a nice blast form the past....Remember Sister
Eliabeth, Mary Joel , Rosemary, Margaret or Mrs.Spiro, Bartoldus, Four or how
